Itinerary (B = breakfast, L = lunch, D = dinner)
Day 1 CAIRO Arrival at Cairo International Airport where you will be welcomed by our representative and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 2 CAIRO (B) An excellent start to our tour this morning is the impressive Cairo Museum of Antiquities. It houses treasures from the First to the Thirty-first dynasties including the treasures of King Tutankhamun. Then on to the Citadel of Salah El Din, overlooking Cairo from the Mogattam hills. Built in 1183 AD, it houses many important monuments, including the Great Mohammed Ali Mosque. Our visit continues to the Sultan Hasan Mosque and the fascinating khan El Khalili Bazaar featuring a wondrous variety of goods.
Day 3 CAIRO (B) Today a full day guided tour starts with a visit to the 4,500 year old Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza, remains of a great civilization. You can take an inside look at the tomb of Cheops. After time for lunch (optional) we’ll visit Memphis the capital of ancient Egypt, to see the statue of Ramses II and the alabaster Sphinx of the 18th Dynasty. Continue to Sakkara to see the step Pyramid the oldest in Egypt and the famous Mastaba tombs. The evening is free for your own activities.

Day 4 CAIRO-LUXOR(NILE CRUISE) (B,L,D) You will be escorted to the airport this morning for your short flight to Luxor, to board the Nile Goddess, your Nile cruise ship. After lunch on board visit the Temples of Luxor and Karnak. Colossal statues, shrines and majestic obelisks, bear witness to the greatness of this ancient civilization. A relaxing afternoon on board. In the evening dinner on board followed by belly dancing show.
Day 5 LUXOR-WEST BANK-EDFU (B,L,D) Early morning you cross the Nile to the West Bank. Highlights of today’s tour are the Valley of Kings and Queens where dynasties of Pharaoh’s were buried, the Great Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari and more. Driving back through the plain we’ ll stop at Medinet Habu to see the twin Colossi of Memnon, the enormous seated statue, facing the Nile. Return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure while you sail to Edfu. In the evening the Captain’s welcome cocktail party, followed by dinner.
Day 6 EDFU-KOM OMBO (B,L,D) Today’s visit in Edfu includes the superbly preserved Temple of the Falcon god Horus. After lunch on board sail to Kom Ombo. Relax in the sun or take a swim in the pool. In Kom Ombo visit the Temple shared by the two gods; Sobek and Haroeis. Marvel at the haunting carvings and mummified crocodiles. Dinner on board followed by Galabia Party.
Day 7 KOM OMBO-ASWAN (B,L,D) Morning sail the Nile on to the Nubian town of Aswan. Sightseeing begins with visits to the High Dam, built by president Nasser to control the flooding of the Nile. Then travel by boat to the Temple of Isis rising of the waters of Lake Nasser on the island of Philae. Continue on to the ancient Granite Quarries and the enormous 170 foot long Unfinished Obelisk. In the afternoon, sail the Nile by felucca around the Elephantine island to view the Agha Khan Mausoleum and the Kichener’s island, once the property of Lord Kichener, when he was Governor General of Egypt. Tonight dinner on board followed by a Nubian folkloric show.
Day 8 ASWAN-CAIRO (B) Disembark after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. (Optional excursion to Abu Simbel is available from Aswan before your flight to Cairo). Upon arrival you will be met and escorted to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure, perhaps some last moment shopping or an authentic optional falafel dinner this evening.
Day 9 CAIRO (B) After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
