Itinerary (B = breakfast, L = lunch, D = dinner)
Day 1 ATHENS Depart via overnight International flight to Athens with all meals on board.
Day 2 ATHENS Arrival at the Athens International Airport and transfer to your hotel in the city. Balance of the day at leisure.

Day 3 ATHENS (B) Your morning tour winds its way through old and new Athens. Important highlights include the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Panathenian Stadium, the national library, the University, Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Zeus, the Acropolis and its Parthenon, followed by a visit to the Acropolis Museum. This afternoon at leisure. Hunt for souvenirs in Monastiraki flea market or wander through Plaka in the evening for a sample of Athenian nightlife. Day 4 ATHENS-ARGOLIS-ATHENS (B,L) Depart along the coastal road through the scenic Saronic gulf to the Corinth Canal. A short stop at the Canal and then on to Agamemnon’s Mycenae, the city “rich in gold” of the ancient poets. See the Lion’s Gate and the well preserved Beehive Tombs. Lunch in Nauplion, a picturesque town crowned by the Palamidi fortress. Continue to Epidaurus to see the 4th century BC amphitheater famous for its perfect acoustics and still in use today for ancient Greek drama. Evening return to Athens. Day 5 ATHENS (B) Day at leisure to explore the city. Perhaps you’ll enjoy an optional excursion to Cape Sounion known for its beaches and one of the world’s most photographed sunsets at the Temple of Poseidon . Or take a cable ride up to the Lycabetus hill to sip an ouzo while enjoying a panoramic view of the city. |

Day 6 PIRAEUS (CRUISING) - MYKONOS (B,L,D) Morning transfer to Piraeus harbor to board your ship for a four day cruise to the Greek Islands and Turkey. Early evening arrival in Mykonos, a sophisticated international resort with traditional Greek charm. Late evening sailing.

Day 7 KUSADASI-PATMOS (B,L,D) Early morning arrival at the bustling Turkish port of Kusadasi for an optional tour to Ephesus the most complete ancient city ever excavated and once the leading city of culture and religion in the area. See the greatest Greek and Romanesque ruins in Ephesus. In the afternoon arrive in serene Patmos dedicated to St. John, its most famous visitor, and said to be where he wrote the Book of Revelations. An optional tour takes you to the Monastery of St. John and his Grotto.
Day 8 RHODES (B,L,D) This flower-filled island of Rhodes awaits you this morning. Sail into Mandraki harbor, whose entrance is flanked by two graceful bronze stags standing where the great Colossus once stood. Explore on your own the picturesque medieval town or take an optional excursion to the city and charming Lindos with its own Acropolis.

Day 9 HERAKLEION-SANTORINI (B,L,D) Early morning we arrive in the island of Crete, center of the important Minoan civilization. An opportunity (optional) to visit the intriguing Knossos Palace. Afternoon arrival at the volcanic island of Santorini. Lots of fine shopping and splendid views from the mountain-top village... take the modern cablecar or an unforgettable donkey ride. Optional excursion visits the excavations at Akrotiri.
Day 10 PIRAEUS-ROME (B) Early morning docking in Piraeus harbor. After breakfast on board, transfer to the airport for your flight to Rome. Welcome to the seven hills of Rome where our representative will transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure for your own activities.
Day 11 ROME (B) As your motorcoach winds through the streets of the city you will be captivated by the many famous and historical sites. Trevi fountain, Via Veneto, Castel St. Angelo-the old Vatican fortress, Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon-burial place of kings, St. Peters Basilica, the Quirinal-Presidential residence and more. The afternoon is free to explore on your own.

Day 12 NAPLES-POMPEI-SORRENTO (B,L,D) In beautiful Napoli founded by the Greeks in the 7th century BC, we will see the San Carlo Opera House, the famous Santa Lucia seafront and Royal Palace. After lunch we continue to Pompeii whose secrets were preserved by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Overnight in enchanting Sorrento. Day 13 SORRENTO-CAPRI-ROME (B,L) Cross the sapphire-blue bay by steamer to legendary Capri. Weather permitting a visit by rowboat to the unusual Blue Grotto. Later tour picturesque Anacapri. Free time before returning to Sorrento. Late evening arrival in Rome. Day 14 ROME-FLORENCE-ROME (B,L) A full day tour to the aristocratic city of Florence with its priceless monuments and works of art. The tour encompasses the Cathedral, Giotto’s bronze doors, the Baptistry, Michelangelo’s David and more. Time for lunch in a typical restaurant and continue to Piazza Santa Croce and the Piazzale Michelangelo. Early evening return to Rome. Day 15 ROME (B) On your own for shopping, sightseeing or just relaxing. |

Day 16 ROME (B) After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your departing flight home. Tour departs every Wednesday, March 5th to November 12th.
