Itinerary (B = breakfast, L = lunch, D = dinner)
DAY 1: TO ATHENS Departure on your overnight flight to Athens.
DAY 2: ATHENS Arrival at the Athens International Airport and transfer to your hotel in the city. Remainder of the day at leisure.
DAY 3: ATHENS (B) After breakfast at your hotel depart on a morning city tour which will introduce you to the most important sights in the city including the Acropolis, the Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum. Remainder of the day at leisure in Athens to discover this famous city.
DAY 4: ATHENS - 5 DAY CRUISE (B,D) Transfer to Piraeus, the main port of Athens, to embark on your awaiting cruise ship. Begin sailing at 7:00 pm tonight to your first port of call.
DAY 5: DELOS - MYKONOS (B,L,D) Arrive in the morning in Delos, the sacred island of Ancient Greece; disembark to see the famous Terrace of the Lions. Noon departure for the nearby jet-set island of Mykonos. Stroll through the white-washed alleyways to the church of Paraportiani, or along the waterfront to the famous windmills.
DAY 6: SANTORINI - HERAKLEION (B,L,D) Early morning arrival in the island of Santorini, land of the fabled Atlantis. Disembark and take a donkey ride uphill to the city of Fira above, or, for the not so daring, take the lift to town. In the afternoon the ship will dock in Herakleion, the largest port on the island of Crete. You would not want to miss the optional tour to the Minoan palace of Knossos. Here you will find the labyrinth of the Minotaur, the legendary protector of King Minos.
DAY 7: RHODES (B,L,D) Arrival today in Rhodes, the island of Roses. Spend a full day on the island exploring the Old City, where the crusading Knights of St. John built their castle and fortress, or visit Lindos and its ancient Acropolis with the inviting white-sanded beach below.
DAY 8: KUSADASI (Turkey) (B,L,D) Arrive to the Turkish port of Kusadasi. Disembark and look for bargains at the local bazaar’s leather shops, or go on an excursion to Ephessos, the most complete ancient city ever excavated.
DAY 9: ISTANBUL (B) After disembarkation in Istanbul depart on a city tour which will introduce you to the most important sights in the city including the 17th century Imperial “Blue Mosque” famous for its six minarets & more. Transfer to hotel in the city. Overnight at your hotel.
DAY 10: ISTANBUL (B) Day at leisure. Set on two continents this ancient city combines its cultures well. Visit the St. Sophia, the 6th century Byzantine Basilica famous for being the largest church of its era, the Byzantine Hippodrome now an open exhibition park with a number of monuments. Also the Topkapi palace, residence of the Ottoman Sultans now a world famous museum, the 16th century Suleimaniye mosque & the Grand Bazaar, world’s largest covered market with more than 4,000 shops & multitude alleys.
DAY 11: ISTANBUL (B) Day at leisure.
DAY 12: ISTANBUL - DEPARTURE (B) After breakfast transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
